Although gro�nd� <br />inq may not be reyuired by code it is recommended by the man- <br />uficturer. <br />Thi� fireplue u not intended to be used as a aubstitute <br />tor a furnaee to heat an entire home. <br />Uie for �uppl.manUry heeting only. <br />MINIMUM CLEARANCES TO COMBUSTIBLES: <br />Framing and enclosures may sately make direct contact with the <br />spacers on the top ot the tireplace. The tireplace may sit directly <br />on r,ombusti6le flooring. The fireplace opening must not be less <br />than 14 inches Irom a combustible, perpendicular side wall. A 2� <br />inch minimum air space r.learance between combustible materials <br />and the chimney must be absolutely maintained. A 16 '/= inch <br />inside chase dimension is recommended as a minimum size. A <br />3/4 inch air space requiied ar�und back and sides of fireplace. <br />PROTECTIVE WALL SHIELD <br />The distance trom the tireplace opening to a perpendicular side <br />wali may be reduced to 3" provided a FMI PWS�36 is installed. <br />See PWS�36 installation instructions tor proper installation. <br />WARNING: DO NOT PACK REUUIRED AIR SPACES WITH <br />INSULA"fION OR OTHER MATERIALS. <br />MEIOMT: The minimum height ot ihe chimney, measured from <br />the base of the lireplace to the fl ue gas outlet, is 14 feet for stra� <br />ight flues er a flue with one elbow seL For systems with 2 elbow <br />sets, the minimum height is 22 feet. The maximum height of any <br />system is 80 feet.
