Two <br /> • <br /> underground storage tanks (USTs)also were present prior to their removal in'1988 -The approximate <br /> location of the;Site is'shown on the;`encl"osed figu• res <br /> In 1994,three soil samples collected contained contamination exceeding MICA Method A`cleanup - <br /> levels:for oil-range:petroleum hydrocarbons Three hydraulic:hoists near the contamtnatzon were <br /> P <br /> ;taken out of service. <br /> In 1999,ten.-elow ow-grade'h drauhc lifts were removed and ten.additional below grade hydraulic lifts <br /> y_, <br /> were closed tri place_ Soil-' the io Efts <br /> of the lifts was over.-excavated to depths of 5 to 11 feet bgs <br /> Approximately 459 tons of c• ontaminated soil vias excavated and transported off site for disposal,but <br /> add•itional contaminated soil above,cleanup leve• ls was;left in place Contaminated soils were <br /> observed m.contact,with groundwater prior to excavation <br /> Physiographic Setting.
