This trail will include connections to an existing paved trail along State Route 527; 1,800 linear feet of on pier over-water boardwalk along the south edge of the lake; 2,000 linear feet of paved trail through city owned park land and enhancements to roadside trail segments. Trail segments through existing park areas will require conceptual revisions to the existing master plan to maximize opportunities for trail access. Requested qualifications include demonstrated expertise in designing multi-use trails over-water, shoreline rehabilitation, marine structures,park master planning as well as complex permitting issues that may involve wetlands, shorelines, and the Endangered Species Act at the local, state, and federal level. Trail development will utilize best practices to reduce erosion, support sustainable development, and enhance the park experience for visitors including way-finding signage, architectural treatments and site furnishings to unify experience.
