July 3, 2013 <br /> A special meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 12:30 <br /> p.m., July 3, 2013 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City Hall, <br /> President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor <br /> Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, Gipson, <br /> Bader, and Affholter were present. Council Member Stonecipher was <br /> excused. <br /> Council Member Bader led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the June 26, 2013 City Council meeting were approved as <br /> printed. Council Member Roberts abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson expressed his disappointment that the legislative <br /> session closed without passing a transportation budget. He remarked on <br /> the success of various local projects, which the city had advocated for. <br /> The Mayor wished everyone a happy 4th of July. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Bader thanked the Parks Department for their quick <br /> replacement of the damaged play structure at Garfield Park. <br /> Council Member Murphy reported on his attendance at the Lowell <br /> neighborhood's 150th birthday celebration and a historical presentation by <br /> David Dilgard. <br /> Council Members Affholter, Roberts and Moore expressed their <br /> disappointment that the transportation package was not successful in <br /> Olympia. <br /> Council Member Roberts reported on his attendance at the Association of <br /> Washington Cities' annual meeting. He presented Mayor Stephanson <br /> with a Smart Growth Award, which he had accepted on behalf of the city <br /> for the Evergreen Way Revitalization Plan. <br /> 182 <br />
