Three firms submitted proposals. Staff recommends that Grindline Skateparks, Inc. be awarded a Professional Service Agreement (PSA) for design services in a not to exceed amount of $22,500. Public input for the project was obtained at a well attended meeting with the skateboard community on May 1, 2006. The project includes a street style skate plaza with stairs, railings, ledges and various other obstacles. Skater rest areas, benches and drainage provisions are also part of the design. Grindline's scope of services includes preparation of construction drawings and specifications as well as project oversight and construction administration. The final design will be reviewed and approved by the Parks Department staff before construction drawings are prepared. Funding for these services will be provided by Fund 354, Program 023 for the Wiggums Hollow Skatepark.
