EXHIBIT A • , <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> BLUE MARBLE ENVIRONMENTAL LLC <br /> Exhibit A <br /> This Scope of work identifies work to be performed by Blue Marble Environmental LLC for the <br /> City of Everett in 2007 and 2008. <br /> Blue Marble Environmental LLC will assist the City of Everett in developing and implementing a <br /> commercial food waste composting and recycling program. Program goals, activities and <br /> deliverables are tied to a Department of Ecology Coordinated Prevention Grant Single Phase Off- <br /> Set Cycle Agreement(Grant No. G0700172)and include development, management and <br /> implementation of the following program: <br /> Commercial Food Waste Composting Program. <br /> Design and implement a commercial food waste composting and recycling program for City <br /> restaurants and food service businesses according to the following work plan and timeline: <br /> Activity Timeline <br /> Identify target audience(City restaurants and food service businesses in the City of Jan—Mar <br /> Everett), and estimate existing waste streams and potential organic diversion and 2007 <br /> cost savings from avoided landfill disposal. <br /> Work with City departments, local haulers,restaurant owners, Snohomish County Apr—Jun <br /> Solid Waste Division, Snohomish Health District, and Cedar Grove Composting 2007 <br /> facility to create a commercial food waste compost program and establish a service <br /> rate. <br /> Determine best implementation strategy for City, Service Providers, and for City Jun—Jul <br /> restaurants, including potential service rate subsidy by City/CPG Off-Set funds to 2007 <br /> increase participation in compost program. <br /> Develop final program strategy and approach. <br /> Aug— <br /> Sept 2007 <br /> Produce program brochures, signs and stickers. Purchase biodegradable bags for Oct—Dec <br /> compost program. 2007 <br /> Promote program to target audience(press releases in local paper, program Jan/Feb <br /> introduction letters). 2008 <br /> Conduct outreach to target audience(meetings with business owners&managers). Mar— <br /> Work with businesses and collection company(s)to start new compost and recycle Aug 2008 <br /> programs. Provide recycling& composting education, support and follow-up <br /> assistance to target audience. <br /> Provide support and follow-up assistance as needed.
