1 <br /> 4Err <br /> POLICY/PROCEDURE <br /> III LE NUMBER <br /> EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FINANCIAL <br /> ASSISTANCE <br /> EFFEC I IVE DATE NEW PAGE NUMBER <br /> 1 OF 5 <br /> Section Index: 1.0 General <br /> 2.0 Definitions <br /> 3.0 Eligibility Criteria <br /> 4.0 Procedures <br /> 5.0 Records Retention <br /> 6.0 Appendix <br /> 1.0 General <br /> 1.1 It is the policy of the City of Everett that no person will be denied needed <br /> pre-hospital health care services because of an inability to pay for such <br /> services. <br /> 1.2 The purpose of this policy is to establish criteria and procedures for the <br /> provision of financial assistance to individuals with no or inadequate <br /> means to pay Everett ambulance transport fees. <br /> 1.3 Financial assistance for ambulance transport will be consistent with the <br /> requirements of the Revised Code of Washington and the Washington <br /> Administrative Code. <br /> 1.4 This policy is being initiated by the Fire Department. <br /> 2.0 Definitions <br /> 2.1 Ambulance transport fees are the fees established by Ord. 2792-04 for the <br /> provision of emergency medical assistance to individuals requiring basic <br /> and/or advanced life support services. <br /> 2.2 Debt Forgiveness is the act of canceling a debt owed to the City of Everett <br /> for services rendered either partial or in full. <br /> 2.3 Financial assistance shall refer to the act of providing medical assistance <br /> to persons without ability to pay for such services, either partial or in full <br /> payment <br /> 127 <br />
