ADNUN STRATIVE ACTION <br />SUBJECT: The Boeing Company <br />High Bay Factory Building <br />CODE SECTION: 713.10 (1994 State Building Code) requires smoke dampers at duct <br />penetrations in vertical duct shaft. <br />PROPOSAL: Substitute an engineered smoke control system for the required <br />smoke dampers. Smoke in either the supply or return duct work <br />will cause the supply fan and all of the fan powered VAV boxes, <br />associated with the supply fan, to stop. The return fan dampers <br />will go to the exhaust position and the return fan will go to full <br />speed. <br />ACTION: Acceptance <br />FINDVgGS: Meets the intent of the code by providing means to limit smoke <br />migration to non fire areas. <br />Provides possibility of increased safety by exhausting smoke. <br />�f�Y� <br />Official <br />
