According to the inEormation that was sent to
my ofEice, a Murphy-Rogers 242M-12-4D dust collector wili. be used
at the facility, equipped with a silencer. The manufacturer of
that dust collector reoorts that the sound levels at a distance
of 10 feet from all Eour sides will range between 75 to 78 dBA.
'1 These sound levels are based on a test in 1989 by the
manufscturer, for a dust col2ector eauipped ri'_h a silencer,
including some shon noise. Actual sound levels from the dust ,
collector, without the shop noise, may therefore be slightly i
'' less. '
mne dust collector will be located on the west side of the
'1 Builders Millwork Supply building, at a discance approximately 60
feet from the north pronerty line, which adjoins commercial
' ' property. The , city of Everett noise ordinance limits the noise
levels between commercial prcperties to 60 dBA.
' Expected dust collector noise level at the adjoining commerCial
f prooerty, at a distance of 60 feet Erom the dust collector, is 65
dBA. This takes into account a 78 dBA source level, the distance
correcion from the dust ecllector to the property line, and the
rePlection Prom the building that the dust collector serves.
'' The noise levels Erom the dust Collector can be reduced at the
north property line by placinq an acoustical screen on the north
' and west sides of the dust collector. The acoustical screen
sYtould extend from the ground level to a height of roughly 2 feet
above the top elevation of the dust collector (including all
attached duct work) .
