Section 303(b) of the Uniform Building Code provides that permits expire by limitation and become null and void if the building or work authorized by permit is suspended, after the work is commenced, for a period of 180 days. The Code also requires final inspection prior to occupancy for all permits issued, and it is the responsibility of the permit holder to call for the necessary inspections. Because of these time frames, your permit has already expired. However. the City of Everett is at this time extending a one-time grace period to holders of recently expired permits. If you wish to recommence work you may renew your permit at no cost for an additional 180 day period . by submitting a written request to this office. The renewal rec_uest must reach us by April 3, 1989. If the work has been completed, you may call for final inspection before April 3rd. Any corrections required must be completed and final approval obtained before that date. Permits that have been neither finaled nor extended by April 3, 1989 will expire.
