OM/A called the meeting with the City of Everett to discuss the possibility
of deleting the water meter and detector check vaults, and also to discuss
abandoning the existing floor hydrants in the old mall.
2. The City of Everett will allow the floor hydrants to be abondoned. We may
also re -use and relocate the existing detector check for those hydrants.
3. Deleting the vaults and placing the domestic water meter and detector
checks in a room has strong possiblities if the following concerns are
addressed:
A. Access to the room 24 hours a day.
B. Providing a valve to shut off the water from the outside.
C. Being able to read meters without going inside the room.
If these conditions are met, Dan Lowell feels that we may be able to delete
the vaults. fie will discuss the possiblitie,; with Tom Thetford. Bill Cook
of Team Engineering will contact the City for their decision tomorrow
morning and will submit a schematic drawing for their approval.
4. According to the Uniform Plumbing Code, ABS Schedule 40 is allowed for
waste and vent piping - the City of Everett felt this would be okay, but
the final word would come from the City Plumbing Inspector. Team
Engineering would be speaking with the Inspector tomorrow.
5. Sam Preston brought up the issue of installing a smoke evacution system in
the new addition. It was determined that a smoke evacuation system would
not be required.
If there are any discrepancies found within, please contact our office.
End of Meeting Notes
DOUGLAS MULVANNY/Architects
JJ/lad
cc: Ron Moyer - Roebling Management
