Everett. N'a purchased the house in Augus t 1 9 8 8 L-VERETT. BUILDING D E P T. <br /> and have recently discovered that we have a water drainage problem. <br /> For the last month we have had approximately 8 to 12 inches of <br /> water in the crawlspace of our house. We contacted ou�neighbor and <br /> found that they had approximately 2 feet of water underneath their II <br /> house. <br /> From an inspection of our property, we found that there is <br /> standing water under our house and around our property line, In <br /> September we put in a fence and in digging the holes for the posts, <br /> we found standing water less than 18 inches below the surface. <br /> Oiar first action was to contact the builder of both houaes. <br /> Unfortunately he has been uncooperative and nothing has been done <br /> up to this point. <br /> We then contacted Marian Pane and Jim Tyler who are City <br /> Building Officials and were advised that the final building inspec- <br /> tion was never done, From advice we have recieved, we understand <br /> this leaves in question if our house is approved to be occupied <br /> or not. In question is the fact that if the final inspection has <br /> not been done, does the City of Everett or the builder bear the <br /> liability for this drainage problem. <br /> If it is the builder's resposibility, we hope that a final <br /> inspection can be done as soon as possible and that the City / <br /> would advise the builder that this drainage problem nee n � Npw C� /L ( <br /> taken care of i�mnediately. �� <br /> We are sending this letter certifie so that it will be <br /> added to the permanent record on this building and that this ;� <br /> information will be taken into account when the final inspection I <br /> is done.
