This letter is to inform you that the Everett Municipa! Code requires that all property owners within 150 feet or adjacent to a public sanitary sewer shall connect their private sewer system to the public sewer after being notified by the Public Works Department. The costs to connect, inciuding construction and monthly sewer se�vice charges, will be bome by the property owner. A review of existing records indicates that your property is not connected to the public sewer system. Our records also indicate that your property is adjacent to, or is within 150 feet of an existing public sanitar� sewer. I have enclosed an excerpt from our sanitary sewer chart indicating the proximity of your property to a public sanitary sewer system. You are being notified by this letter to connect to the public sewer. In the event you wish to delay connection to the sewer, the City Engineer may, on written request from the property owner, extend the time to connect to the public sewer for a period of up to a maximum of ten (10) years; provided that, at the property owner's expense, the Snohomish Health District certifies, in writing, to the Public Works Department that the Existing sewage system is operational. The Snohomish Health District can be contacted at (425) 339-5250; ask for the Wastewater Division. Everett Municipal Code further establishes that all properties within 150 feet of an available public sanitary sewer, who fail to connect after notice by the City, shall pay to the City an amount equal to the sawer service charges established for other users of like kind. All rates and charges so paid shall be credited toward the sewer connection charges applicable at such time as the property is connected.
