John Farrens <br />R�: Apartment duilding Foundations <br />10012 - 4th Avenue 4lest <br />�iear Mr. Parrens: <br />An inspection was made of the subject apartment foundations for the <br />Southeast building of the complex. The contrar,tor had placed c m crete <br />foundation forms and had installed the reinforcing steel. It taas noted <br />that in some areas the soii seemed rather soft and appeared to have heen <br />excavated verv little below an original grade at the east end. Further, <br />the bearinq capacity eiould be ^stimated at approximately 1,500 pounds per <br />square foot. <br />At tlie east end �ae would recommend widening the footings to 21 inches. <br />4Je would also recommend that one number five reinforcing bar be installed <br />at the top of the wall for the full periineter of the foundation.
