'Ibis 6as been discussed wit6 Mr. Randy Clazk of Selex Homes, Mr. Pat McCourt
of Univaaal Brokerage Corporation, and Mr. Michael Crowson of W&H Pacific.
We hrve obsaved no aigos of instability oc native slopes in Divisioas III and N. Fill
alopea on Divisions III and IV wae coatuucud with stcuctural fitl consisting of on-site granular
soils unda fuil-time moniWring of a qualifiod individual from our firm. 'Ibe atructural fill is
keyal into existiog fum native soils and fill placed to achieve the final slope grades 6ac been
properly benched into ezisting native materials and compacted to 95 percent of MDD (maximum
dry deasity) according to the speci6cadons of the ASTM D-1557 test rocedure. In addition, the
lats are gnded to slope away from the tops of slopes a,d all slopes have been covered with jute
matting and 6ydroseeded for erosion protection.
In our opinion, where slopes have been placed, compacted, graded, and vegetated as
described above, the minimum building setback distance can be reduced to 10 feet. The setback
distance is the 6orizontal distance meatured from the froot face of the footing to the face of the
slape. It should be understood t6at if the setback distance is reduced to 10 feet, the risks of
losing access, reducing the design life of the foundations and having slope movement impact the
huuse foundations aze increased.
oF.ngm<:> : .
>11n Iii11114'._. \ f.
SPiI➢Ilt.\\.1., :
n:ij'liqlci.u , ,iiii
1.1A.INd1P '
