Fill
slopes on Divisions IIi ind IV wae constiuctod with suuctura] fill consisting of on-site granulaz
aoils undu tull-time monitoring of a qualified individual from our firm. 'Ite suuctural ffi s
Icoyed into existing firm native soils and fill placed to achieve the fina] slope grades has been
properly benched into ezisting native materials and compacted to 95 percent of MDD (maximum
dry deatity) accotding to the specificadons of the ASTM D-1557 test procedure. In addition, the
lots are graded to sipe away from the tops of slopes and all slopes have baen covered with jute
matting and hydroseeded for erosion protection.
In our opinion, where slopes 6ave been pla^ed. comPactal, Braded, and vegetata. at
described above, the minimum building secback distance can be reduced to 10 feet. Thz setback
distance is the horizontal distance measured from the front face of the footing to the face of the
siope. It should be understood that if the setback distance is reduced to 10 feet, the risks of
losing access, reducing the design life of the foundations and having slope movement impact the
house foundations are increased.
r,'r:,:,,s, n
..,;. . ,a anr,... E.
ked•:l..td.1Ad ^
lcu. :' :'n I= x, 2n.n. nn.
llA :"1I 56+o:n
... . ,., ....
