� <br />To: File <br />From: Larry Callahan <br />Date: July 23, 1985 <br />Subject: 5512 South lst Street <br />Dennis Diedrich <br />At approximately 10:00 a.m. on July 23, 1985 an inspection was made <br />of the residential structure located at 5512 South lst and the <br />following was noted: <br />The main floor of the structure has been a duplex at some <br />date as there were two separate living quarters. Each <br />unit has its own separate door leading directly to the out- <br />side and there is a door between the two units. <br />2. As of this Aate there are two separate livin9 areas with one <br />exception: One area (the most northerly) occupied by a Mr. John <br />Scott (not the owner) consists of a living room, bedroom, bath- <br />room and an area that was formerly the kitchen. The kitchen <br />area does not have a range or stove, nor a refrigerator, but does <br />have a kitchen sink. There is no evidence of any cookin9 facilities. <br />3. The basement area had been converted to living quarters and had been <br />occupied by Mr. Scott prior to Mr. Diedrich being denied permission <br />to have a duplex on this property. The basement area does have a <br />sink, refrigerator and an electric range but no ele�.ric service <br />to this area. Mr. Diedrich is now utilizing the area for storage <br />purposes. <br />It is my opinion that what is being conducted at the Diedrich residenc,� <br />at 5512 South lst is in compliance with the provisions of the City of <br />Everett zoning code as a single family residence with one roomer for <br />lodging only. <br />Mr. Diedrich readily admits that Mr. Sco*t has access to and does <br />utilize the one existing kitchen. <br />
