Abcolutely nothinQ has been done to upg:•ade the building,
repair it or change it in any way since my memo of May 17, 197:•
As stated in the last parngraph of the year-old memo, it is not likely that
snything will ever be done, if indeed anything could be done to make this intc
a structure that could be safely occupied.
As lon6 as this building stands, it will stand ss a sort of monument to iak of
maintenance, deterioration and wlnerability to vandalism such ns the mali^ious
setting of fires. If this building were to become involved in f_re, it wouid
be extremely dangerous *^ the firefighters bec¢use of the possiLility of col-
lapse of walls, ceilings or both.
is was pointed out during the incpecticn tour a year ago, the terrain unon which
this building is cituated and the unusual construction would make ihis ai: out-
standingly difficul.t fire to fight.
We would urge that all ¢vailable means at youi• dispocil be explored to bring
abcut abatement proceedings.
