30 <br />January ?.9, 1975 <br />I hope when January, 1980, rolls around, none of us officials in <br />the room today will be occupying positions of elected responsibility <br />in the City of Everett; because, in fact, we will each individually <br />feel so secure in the record of ou.r accomplishments and so rewarded <br />by our personal efforts that we will feel comfortable in turning <br />the reins of government over to those who can engage in a fresh <br />new cycle of creativity, determination and responsiveness as they <br />strive to meet the needs of our con�unity during the two remain_n9 <br />decades of this century. <br />SHORELINF MANAG�MENT PERMIT <br />Moved by Councilman Aldcraft, seconded by Councilman'Langus to grant <br />a Shoreline Manage ment permit to the Weyerhaeuser Company for <br />revision of wood room facility at Mill A. <br />Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes except Councilman <br />Eber.t who was excused. <br />Motion carried <br />POLICG PROPESSIONAL LIABILITY ZNSURJIIJC� <br />Moved by Councilman Rucker, seconded by Councilman Aldcroft to <br />authorize the Mayor to sign a contract for Police Professiorial <br />Liability InsLrance for 1975 with the American Home Assurance Company <br />in the amount o= $8.138. <br />Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes except Councilman Ebert <br />who was excused. <br />Motion carried <br />RESOLUTION <br />RoUert Royce, Housing Inspc:ctor, gave a report on an unsafe builcling <br />at 5217 South 2nd Street <br />On Diay 17, 1973, we received a memo from Fi.re Marshal Cooper which <br />listed deteriorated conditions at the old Odd I'ellows Hall in <br />Lowell. The property owner at that time was George Unsworth and <br />our negotiations with Yiim, for the rehabilitation of the property, <br />were fruitless. During our struggle with him, he sold the property <br />to Mr. Gerald Dlanley. <br />R�e notifed Mr. Manley by let�er, of several violations of the <br />building cede on March 26, 1979• There was no r�sponse to this <br />letter. On April 8, 1974, �oe issued a Notice of Unsafe IIuil.ding, <br />�ahich was mailed to Mr. Pianley by certified mail. Mr. Manley re- <br />ceived this notice on April 10, 1974. <br />On April 19, 1974, Mr. Manley telephoned us and stated that he had <br />planned to repair Lhe bui.lding and he requested thirty days estention <br />L-o eEfect this. <br />On Junc 17, 197A, after ���e noticed that the property had further <br />IIearingr�whichWwas�hcld o�LJulytl6M�'1974ti1cAs�11.� Mu�lcyndidinoL-ials <br />
