March 10, 1975
Mr. Fred Moe
1620 Rucker
Everett, Washington
Dear Mr. Moe:
fhc Evergreur
CITY OF
everett
arr Hnu • asosees
[V[MC1T. W/6HINGTON
fe:o
ieso:cnoH ocrenrHcnr
I ma5e an eictxcal inspection at 5531 South 2nd Street, at
th.2 regust of che Fire Preventative Division, City of Everett.
he tenan.c to13 me she was just a renter, but let me make
tlie inspc:ctio: and gave me your name as the oaner.
'i^he tenant did admit to having breaker problems, but said you
hired an electrician, to correct it and do additional wiring.
The last electrical permit issued for that address was takan
by Geddis Electric, September of 1968, to change the service ,
and install electric heat. An inspection was made and
passed at that time. Since then someone has done extensive
wiring that has created a hazard. Everyplace I turned and
looked frorn the panel I saw open splices not made up in
enclosed junction boxes as required by the National Electric
Code. The person you hired is certainly not a qualified
electrician or he would have known this fndamental rule.
The ground wires were also joined by means of solder which
again is not permitted by the N.E.C.
9ould you please hire a competent electrical contractor to
take out a permit and correct all of the non-code wiring.
Also, call for an elent.rical inspection when completed.
Respectfully
L. J. Dougherty
Electrical Inspector
WD:eb
