The results of the huilding inspection <br />indicate the construction corrections which must be made in order to bring the <br />unit into compliance with the Uniform Building Code. You will also need to <br />proviae 2 parking sp�ces if you intend to connect the uni[ to [he main house, <br />making it an addition. <br />Building Inspection Report: <br />1. Provide 7'6" headroom in the bedroom loft which is currently 6'S" and <br />slopes. <br />2. Install a stairway and guardrail for access to the loft. A ladder is <br />not permitted. <br />3. <br />4 <br />E7 <br />Provide 7' headroom in the bathroom, whfch is currently 6'S". <br />Repair stairs from porch, which are nonconforming (stair t.r.ead <br />minimume). <br />Finally, to attach the unit to the mai.� structure requires a <br />subatantial, usable connection. The connecti�n must not cause any <br />reduction or alteration of existing light or •�enting to either building. <br />These corrections -equire a building permit (which would also be reviewed by <br />the Planning Department for compliance with zoning regulations). As I <br />mentioned before, parking muat be on slte for residential uses. <br />The other alternative available to you is to return the building to a garage. <br />Tais would also require a building permit. <br />In either case, we ask that you review these options and submit a building <br />permlt application withln 60 days, or no later than May 31, 1990. Thia permi� <br />application is the first step to compliance. When the permit is finaled, out <br />records will be updated and the enforcement file r_losed. <br />
