These <br />comments address building issues only, additional revisions or additions may be required by other <br />departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the 1994 Umform Bmldmg <br />Code, as amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1995 Edition, <br />unless stated otherwise. <br />In order for the processin� of your application to continue, it will be necessary to <br />provide the Building Divis�on with two complete new sets of drawings reflecting <br />the corrections reyuested. <br />1. The plans do not meet the prescriptive requirements for lateral bracing. Provide lateral <br />analysis prepared by a licensecl Washmgton State structural engineer. <br />2. The glazing shown exce�s all prescriptive opdons of Chapter 6 of the Washington Sta�e <br />T:nergy Code (WSEC) (Option �Y8 allows a m�imum of 30°% glazing). Option N7 and N8 <br />require R-5 foam sheathing in addition to R-19 insulation. Provide new window sizes <br />(shown at correct locations) or provide component calculation form. <br />3. Show adjoining rooms on plans; indicate how light and ventiladon requirements aze met. <br />4. Provide note on drawings indicating smoke detectors shall be installed in each sleeping <br />room and in the comdor or area givmg access to each separate s!eeping azea. Detectors <br />shall be installed on each floor and in basemenu. <br />5. <br />� <br />� <br />Show how attic of addition is vendlated. <br />Provide detail of how deck is attached to addition; specify all connectors. <br />Show header size(s) at garage doors. <br />Provide solid blocking at bearing at deck; provide rim joist. <br />Provide guardrail detail, call out framing members and show spacing of railing. <br />10. Show safety glass at required hazardous locations.
