T0: Gerry Ervine ,
FROM: Marian Dent /sl'/
DATE: June 23, 1982
SUBJECT: Duplex at 3105 Tulalip
A complaint was registered with the Building Department on
June 16, 1982 concerning a single family residence at
3105 Tulalip presently being used as a duplex.
The complainant lives at 3100 Tulatip and was granted a
variance some time ago to provide a separate living unit
for ner mother with the stipulation that the unit would not
be rented out or used as a duplex after the mothar's use
had ceased. Apparently, the mother is no longer with them and
they have abided by the requirements of the variance. The
problem now arises with the neighbors at 3105 Tulalip.
The residences are located in an R-1 zone disallowing the
use of duplexes in the area.
A research of our files does not indicate the work being per-
mitted for ^.onversion of a single family residence to a duplex.
I checked the records of lJater Utility Billing and found that
the service is for a duplex. I drove by the structure and it
was difficult to deterinine just how many units are there; the
place is quite a mess.
? checked with the title company and found the owners name. It
is Fred L. Ray, 2111 Lom6ard, Everett.
I reel that a letter should be sent to the owner via your
department regarding the violation of the Zoning Code.
