ESNW provided the referenced
geotechnical engineering study for the project. Our services included providing onsite
observations and testing on a full-time and part-time basis from October 8, 2012 to February
27, 2013. ESNW representatives made 24 site visits to observe or test shoring installation,
building slab and foundation subgrade, stormwater vault foundation subgrade and backfill, and
utility trench backfill.
ESNW representatives observed soldier pile and wood lagging shoring installation on a full-
time basis. The shoring was installed in accordance with the project plans and our
geotechnical recommendations.
ESNW representatives observed building foundation subgrade and stormwater vault foundation
subgrade to be dense and suitable for the design allowable soil bearing capacity of 2,500 psf.
Vault drainage consisted of a crushed rock base and a perimeter perforated PVC drain pipe,
embedded in drain rock and covered with a layer of filter fabric.
1805 - 136th Place N.E., Suite 201 • Bellevue:, WA 98005 • (425) 449-4704 • FAX (425) 449-4711
