The permit authorizes the City of Everett to continue use of United States Forest Service land at current levels for the next 10 years. It authorizes the City of Everett Parks and Recreation Department to lead guided hike, snowshoe, ski,backpack and canoeing trips on United States Forest Service property. The permit fee is based on 3% of gross revenues generated by trips utilizing United States Forest Service lands. The permit fee for 2007 is estimated to be$534.00. This fee is incorporated into the annual Parks Budget through the formal budget process. Participant fees cover the costs of this annual permit fee. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign the United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service Special Use Permit for Outfitting and Guiding.
