RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION supporting a Library Services and Technology Act <br /> Preservation Initiative grant application for the funds to archivally <br /> preserve historically significant Sanborn Insurance maps in the <br /> collection of the Everett Public Library. <br /> WHEREAS, the Everett Public Library has a collection of Sanborn Maps that <br /> contain information important to the study of both Everett and Washington State <br /> history. <br /> WHEREAS, these materials are in fragile condition, and their survival is <br /> threatened by daily use. <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Everett to continue to provide access to <br /> unique information related to the history of the City for the benefit of its citizens <br /> and others doing research on Washington' past. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Everett that <br /> the City of Everett lends its full support and endorsement to the Library's <br /> application for grant funds under the Library Services and Technology Act <br /> (LSTA) Preservation Grants 2007, and the Mayor is authorized to execute all <br /> applications and grant contracts related thereto, and the execution of the grant <br /> itself, if, as, and when awarded. <br /> Councilperson Introducing Resolution <br /> PASSED and APPROVED this day of , 2007. <br /> Council President <br /> 7 <br />
