To Walter Sellerskd
room Housing Inspection
DATE August 17, 1971
SUBJECT History and Information Report (-IT' CF'"''IF I L L"'' "'q IF W. G 10-1
Address: 1720 Virginia
Owner: Mr. Robert Gregory
Structure: Wood Frame, two story, single family residence.
Zoning: R-2
1720 VIRGINIA
7-17-71 Received complaint from Mrs. James Leese (1716 Virginia) stating that the
occupants of 1720 Virginia (Mr. Robert Gregory) had not been home and had left their
dog tied in the back yard. She assumed the Gregory's had moved, she and the neighbor
south of the Gregory residence (Mr. Ben Young) have been feeding and watering the dog.
Housing Inspectors Robert Royce and Douglas Budden -esponded to the complaint. Mrs.
Leese was not at home, talked with Mr. Ben Young, the oth^r neighbor, he stated that
the Gregory family had moved about two weeks previous but he thought at least one
of the boys still slept in the house, at least occasionaly. In the presence of
Mr. Young we entered the house through the rear door, which was ajar. The interior
of the house was deteriorated and quite dirty, i,: appeared that either someone was
living in the house or the Gregorys had not completely moved because the house was
full f personal effects so we did not stay to make an interior inspection.
ownership check shows that the Mr. Robert Gregory is the owner, having satisfied the
mortgage in 1969.
Subsequent drive -by inspections revealed that the house was occupied and some efforts
were being made to clean up the premises.
8-12-71 Responded to a complaint from Mrs. James Ballow (1702 Virginia), Housing
Inspectors D. Budden and R. Royce, Plumbing Inspector, Layton Coalwell. The
occupants of the house Mr. and Mrs. Paul O.Bernier were very cooperative and e•eplained
the Mrs. O'Bernier was the owners sister and they had agreed to repair and improve
the house in lieu of paying rent. They invited us in to show us what work they had
