These comments address building issues only, additional <br />revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning <br />or Fire). All refer�•�ces refer to the 1991 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the <br />State of Washington and /or Washington State Energy Code 1994, lst F.dition, unless <br />stated otherwise. <br />1. Openings along the east wall must be protected. Table SA. <br />2. Daycare, kindergarten, lst or 2nd grade class rooms (any class room use with <br />children under age S) are not allowed in basements. Sec. 802(c). <br />3. Occupancy load signs are required for nave, classrooms and multi-purpose <br />rooms with an occupan[ load over 50. Sec. 3302(c). <br />4. The stairs to the basement and baptistery must have handrails on both sides. <br />One handrail must extend 12" beyond [he top riser and 23" beyond the bottom <br />riser. Sec.3306(i). <br />5. The hallways between the nave and multi-purpose rooms and between the <br />basement class rooms must be 44" min. wide.
