This is a 41-," concrete slab that sep- arates the kitchen exhaust ducts ind the level 2m mechanical room exhaust ducts. Please find enclosed a copy of clarification drawing #CD-75 and drawing #M22 (revised) for your review. We propose to provide safing insulation between the slab edge and the vertical louver to provide complete horizontal separa- tion between shafts. Please review this situation and advise if the revised detail is acceptable to the building department. If this situation is unacceptable, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can investigate other methods to assure compliance with the uniform building code requirements.
