On August 10 I returncd to the arca and again, nothing had beeri cloae sa I took :+ couple of pictures and referred the matter to our l,egal titaff for further c�irection. On August 18 , Assistant City Attorney .1im Tles settt a letter to the owncr oE the property gi��ing him until the 29th of Au�;ust to correct the hazardous situation caused by the bushes . I inspected the are;� on August SOth and, anaiiy the proUlem had not bcen correctcd. The City of f:verett ha, an ordi.nance pertaining to the removal of vegctation anc( it is covered in 'Pitle 8 of tiie Everett Municipal Code. in accordance H�ith Sec . 8 . 08 . 040 of Titic 8, GMC, it would takc Council action for the city to proceed to have *he vcgetation removed f:om the alley. I feel that this situation of the bushes overgrowing into the alley is a nuisance to veh.icular and pedestr an traffic in the area. Should the bushes remain, thc situation may become dangerous as they continue to grow. I would ] ike at this time to request permission frcm you to place th.is matter on the Council agenda and presenx Council with a resolution requiring thc owner to remove ttie vegetation. If the owner fails to com�,ly witl� the notice then Council has the authority to ndopt a resolution ordering re�oval of the vegetat.ion and the cost thereof charged against the owner of the property and such charge shall become a lien against the property. 7'his action is authorizcd in accordance with Sec. 8 . 08, p40 of '['itle 8 , E.�t.C. - J
