Shannon,residing at 1617 Rucker Aver.ue,Everett,Washington, am requesting <br /> a variance to the building code 19.16.040 of the City of Everett to consavct a two-stall <br /> garage on the southeazt portion of my property. This building is needed for safe,secure <br /> off-street parldng for my vehicle and a boat on a trailer plus miscellaneous small tools,etc. <br /> It will not be used for any other purpose. To funher jusdfy the need for the proposed <br /> garage: 'Ihete have been four instances of vandalism to my vehicles pazked on the street in <br /> front of my residence, An expensive sound system was stolen from one through a window <br /> smashed by the lootcr or looters; a reaz tail light assembly was smashed by vandals; a rear <br /> view mirnor was broken on the driver's side of my pickup truck; and a caz was broken into <br /> and sporting equipment taken. I believe that,in view of this, I need a safe secure building � <br /> in which to park my equipment. The existing garage is not large enough to accommodate <br /> three vehicles and a boat motor and trailer. This request is to build exceeding the ]0°�0 <br /> allowed in Paragraph 2. of above building code by 68 square feet. <br /> It will not obsWct any views,etc., since it will be located on a lot adjacent to and south of <br /> the property line on neighboring property. There nre also numaous other buildings <br /> bordering both sides of the alley from 16th Street to 17th Smeet between Rucker Avenue <br /> and Hoyt Avenue. Also, it will be located inside my property lines by approximately 5'S" <br /> either side. <br /> It is also my belief that it witl be aesthetically compadble with all adjacent properties,south <br /> and nonh and along the alley. It will be finished, i.e., composition roof, painted, etc. This <br /> building is being built by a building contractor, Cox Constivction. It will cover a lesser <br /> area of my property than most on the alley corridor between 1Gth and 17th streeu. <br /> Therefore,it will not adversely affect the comprehensive plan. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> � Ncal V.
