Shannon,ttsiding at 1617 Rucker Avenue,Everett,Washington,am requesting <br /> a variance to the building code 19.16.040 of the City of Everett to construct a two-suill <br /> garage on the southeast portion of my properry. This building is needed for safe,secure <br /> off-smet pazldng for my vehicle and a boat on a vailer plus miscellaneous small tools,etc. <br /> It will not be used for any other purpose. To furtha justify the nad for the proposed <br /> garage: '[hcne have been four instances of vandalism to my vehides parked on the street in <br /> front of my fesidence. An expensive sound system was stolen from one thmugh a window <br /> smashed by the looter or looters; a n;ar tail light assembly was smashed by vandats; a rear <br /> view mirror was broken on the driver's side of my pickup truck;and a car was broken into <br /> and sporting equipment taken. I believe that,in view of this,I neod a safe secure building <br /> in which to park my oquipment. 'Rie exisdng gazage is not large enough to accommodaoe <br /> thiee vehicles and a boat motor and vailer. This roqucst is to build exceeding the 10% <br /> allowed in Paragraph 2.of above building code by 68 square feet. <br /> It will not obsauct eny views,etc.,since it will be located on a lot adjaant to and south of <br /> the properry line on neighboring property. 'Ihere are also numerous other buildings <br /> bmdering both sides of tMe alley from 16th Smat to 17th Saeet betwan Rucker Avenue <br /> and Hoyt Avenue. Also,it will be located inside my property 6nes by approximately 5'S" <br /> either side. <br /> It is also my belief that it will be aesthetically compadble with all adjacent properties,south <br /> and north and along the alley. It will be finished,i.e.,composidon roof,painted,etc. 'Ihis <br /> building is being built by a building contractor,Cox Conswction. It will caver a lesser <br /> area of my property than most on the alley corridor between 16th and 17th streets. <br /> 'ihenefom,it will not adversely affect the compnehensive plan. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Neal V.
