The site consists of five parcels, each 25 feet in width. 71�e site is bounded to the east by Rucker Avenue,and on the west by a paved alley. The east side of the Isite is level and near the seme gtade as Rucker Avenue. A concrete retaining wall,4 to 7 fcet in height, separates the west- half of the site. This reteining wall is continuous behvecn the existing structures on Isite and the adjacent structure to the south. it focros the basement retaining wall for the structures. West of the wall,the ground slopes down gently to the alley. � Maximum elevation change across the site as measured from the topographic plen provided, is on the ( order of 15.6 feet. The proposed foundation subgrade elevation is approximately 0.8 fat above to 1 foot Ibelow the existing alley grede. 'Il�e existing front yard is 14.0 to 15.6 feet above planned footing subgrade elevation. I Four, hvo-story residences with daylight basements currently occupy four of the lots. The fifth lot is Icutrently occupied by a deck. Residences are located on the adjacent properties to the north and south. These adjacent residences arc located 1.5 to 3.5 feet from the property line, respectively. 'Ihe adjacent Iresidences also have daylight besements. I Field Observations The bottom of the foundations of the adjacent structures were explored to detertnine the geometry between the foundations of the residences and the proposed building. Our evaluations wete pedortned Iabout 10 feet west of the building comers. We evaluated foundation elevations using a hand level and the topographic map provided. Our measurements ere based on spot checking, and assume that the Ifoundations for the residences are level, and do not "step up" to the east. We did not enter the adjacent structures. IThe residence located at 2532 Rucker Avenue, to the south of the project site, will be approximately 8.5 , feet away from the proposed beilding. The foundation was found to consist of a stem wall without a I I footing. The stem wall appears to be founded on medium dense weathered till.
