We sue not qualified in finding or identifying such materials, evaluating the <br /> haZards, abating the tiazards, removal, or any other consideration regarding such materials. <br /> Hazardous materiats are bayond the scope ol this inspection. You should consult <br /> appropriately quali(ied experts about such matters. Mention of hazardous materials in this <br /> report is made to alerl ��ou to the probability that such materials may be present and to <br /> encourage you to seek additional information about them. <br /> ASBESTOS: Asbesto.^> fibers are present in a great many building materialc, qny building <br /> constructed prior to the early 1980's is tikely to have significant quantities of asbestos fibers <br /> in several difterent areas. So long as the materials containing the fibers remain in good <br /> Cendition and they ara not disturbed, they are not usually Considered hazardous. However, <br /> asbestos fibers have been associated with life-threatening ailments, particularly when those <br /> nbers beCome airborne. The presence of asbestos can be a sensitive issue. A great deal oi <br /> information has been published concerning asbestos in buildings. The Puget Sound Air <br /> Po1luUon Control Agency may also be contacted for further information. <br /> FORMALDEHYDF: Formaldehyde can be considered a hazardous material, but it is an <br /> extremely common ingredient in many oi the materials used in construction. It i� possible for <br /> any building to have a presence of formaldehyde gas that can cause a heaNh problQm, <br /> partiCuiarly for individuals who are highly sensitive to it. Some are tixetl in place and are set in wood framas <br /> rather than in manufactured sashes; some hav2 wood sashes. The quaiity is poorer than <br /> average. <br /> Some have loose giazing that will aliow air infiltration. I suggest that the glazin3 be reset in <br /> these windows or ihat the windows be replaced with retrotit, aluminum or plastic framed <br /> double glaZed windows. Some show severe decay in the sashes. Some show severe <br /> weathering oi the sashes. Scme show deteriorated putty that sftould be replaced. Some <br /> have sashes that are �nming apart. Some have cracked giass. Some have broken glass. <br /> Many couid not be openFd without the usc of excessive torce. Some show evidence oi <br /> leakage (i.E. at the south apartment front room window beneath the loose front porch roof <br /> area). <br />
