Engines Inspction oi the PropertV Loraled a;
261& and 2626 Rucker Avenue, Everett, lVasliingion Pa9e 2fi .
I found no insulation in the tloors over the unde`loor crawl space. I recommend a minimum'
R value of 19 in this case.
I tecommend that the weaiherstripping of the doors and windos of this building also be
:mproved. This shouid be done with quality materials. The weatherstripping should be
applied carefully to prevent the binding of openable units.
his building also presently h3s single glazing in the windows. The installation of double
glazing or storm windows wiil improve comfort and substantiaily reduce heating costs. It will
also signifiCantly reduce the penetratiun Of outside noise into the interior. However, it is
expensive, and the economic returns often do not justify the expense.
SECTION 8. IMITA710N ON INSPECTIONS
Csriain limitations apply to any inspection, inciuding those oiligentiy performed hy a qualitied
expert. The limttations on this inspection include ?hose discissed throughout ihe report,
together wfttt those listed in the following paragraph. It you make any use of the information
contained in this report, ii is necessary that you understand and accept these limitations. iF
7HESE LIMITATIONS ARF UNRCCEPTABLE TO YOU, YOU SHOULD NOT RELY ON THE
INFORMATION IN THIS FOR ANY PURPOSE WHATSOEVER.
INSPECTION TIME: A limited amount of tfine is allored for each inspection. Normally, 2 to
2'/: hours, plus report preparation time, are allotted for a general inspection of a single family
dwelling, This time limitation is imposed to keep the inspection cost reasonable and, in most
cases, is sutticient to allow performance of an adequate inspeCtion. However, this amount of
time places some obvious limitations on the detail and investigative work that the inspecting
engineer can do. If he indicates, or if you believe, that additional inspection time is needed,
you should request that he revisit the site to pertorm additional work, possibly at additional
cost.
. . .,-.. :r.:-..o,.:::.._.  .. .-.-:rr ...Lt  S_::L- tii;
''—'IL1l' OF DEFICIENCIES: Statements, representations, or conciusions oHered by
the engin2er who COnducts the inspectipn and/or by NoRhwest Inspection Engineers, Inc, are
based soiely upon a visual pxamination of the exposed areas oi the structure inspected.
Hidden defects could have a significant impact on the visuaily based conclusions; statements,
and representations made by the inspector. .
I7EMS NOT MENTIONED: Ii an item is not meniioned in the report, it should be assumed
that it was not inspeCted. IF an item whiCh you feel is important is not mentioned, you shouid
request that the :spector revisit the site to pertorm additional work, possibly at additional
cost.
CODES: Codes ielating to the construction of buildings ate complex and often ambiguous
documents whicli are subject to a great deal of interpretation by local building otticials.
olations of code are present in virtuaily all buildings, including ihose which aze newly
constructed and approved by building officials.
