�i <br />,Soils below these valves will require recommendation of professional engineer or will � e <br />quire the installatlon of 50% more anchors. <br />III.Testtng Procedures: <br />Each anchor or component shall be fndependently tested by an agency recogn(zed by tlii; <br />authority. The force requ(red shall be 4,750 Ibs. then on to a 10% overload. Failure of any an <br />chor or component or any part thereof which occurs during the �os: for approval will requ(rc <br />the anchor or component to be redes(gned with correspondfng detailed drawings anc <br />speclficatlons. Submittal to this authorlty for re•testing shall occur before additional tests arc <br />to be conducted. Anchor destruct test report must show polnt of faifure, fallure mode anc <br />description, and method of testing. The tension test should s(mulate the components end usc <br />and must be tested with strap or cable attached to the tension devlce. <br />A . Laboratory Test: <br />1.Tested to required strength and then to a 10% overload. <br />2. Test shall be conducted wfth the use of a baldwin press or equivalent. <br />3. The testing laboratory shall furnish evidence of cailb�atlon of equ(pment current <br />within six months. <br />4. Force required for all tests shall be applied in ten second Intervals at 500 Ib, in <br />crements. The test should continue to a 10% overload. <br />B . Field Testing: <br />Field testing shall be conducted by the same ag�ancy to determine the hoidfnE <br />capacity of the anchor. The report should indicate: model tested as described b� <br />the engineered drawings, method of Installation, date of installatlon, date of pul� <br />out test, soll proflle as described hereln, locatlon of field test, testing equlpment <br />used, polnt and mode of test feilure, and direction or degree of test pull. An in <br />dlvidual teat must be performed In each soli class for which the anchor (s seekin� <br />Iisting and approval. Soil classifications are listed herein. Fa(lure wlll be descrfbec <br />as any result less than 4,750 Ibs, of force or 2" of uplift or 3" of side deflectlon. <br />IV.�uality Control and Assurance <br />1. Each anchor or component manufacturer/producer shall furnish to this authorit� <br />a written detailed descrfptlon of the Quality Control program and proceduros. In <br />cluding in the quality assurance program, the menufacturer should address the <br />areas of materlal compllance and dimenslonal adherence to the engineerec <br />drawings, traceability of Incoming raw materials, control of manufacturinE <br />methods, random and Indivldual inspectlon of finished goods, and perlodic <br />testing to assure 95%•98% compllance to applicable standards. <br />2. Model numbers shall be permanently marked on the top of each anchor so It I: <br />readily visible after installatlon of the product. Components must be vfsibl� <br />marked as well. Steel strapping shall be Indelibly marked every 12" as doscribec <br />herein. <br />3.The anchor manufacturer shall furn(sh and ship with each anchor or group ot <br />common style anchors the appropriate information with respect to certified soi <br />classifications for the product, This information should include recommendec <br />Installation procedures. <br />4. Any r�aterial change from the engineered drawings (metal sizes, welding altera• <br />tions, coatings, etc.) will nuillfy ail approvals. New submittal will be requirec <br />following all changes. , <br />5. In•House sample testing of at least three anchors and components shall be con <br />ducted at monthly fntervals. A copy of the monthly results should be mailed tc <br />this author(ty and should follow the "Laboratory Testing" format as explainec <br />hereln.
