VI. Erosion / Sedimentation Control Design <br />Do to the small scale of the project (less than 0.5 acres the gradual slope of <br />the site, and existing ground is covered with asphalt and gravel, the potential <br />for site erosion is minimal. Cuts are anticipated to be less than 1' deep. The <br />primary fill activity will be importing crushed rock prier to the paving <br />operations. On -site earth -fill areas are expected to be minimal and range <br />between 0.5' to 1'. Erosion control measures (Best Management Practices) <br />will be employed and include the following: <br />1. Any exposed surfsm which will not be covered within one week will be <br />mulched. <br />2. All non -paved, non -building areas will be permanently landscaped. <br />vII. Maintenance and Operations Manual <br />This section includes the standard maimenamx recommendations provided in the <br />King County Surface Water Desipm Manual for the following components: <br />1. catch basins <br />2. pipes and ditches <br />3. grounds (landscaping) <br />In addition, the following steps should be performed during the life of the <br />project: <br />1. Every six months, in the spring and fall, open the oiUwater separator and <br />check for excems debris and/or sludge accumulation. Pump out be a licensed <br />pumper, if necessary. <br />2. At the end of fall, clean out the building roof gutters. <br />3. After all windy storms, check all catch basins gums and remove debris <br />caught by the grates. <br />16 <br />
