Swan Jr.
4426 Rucker Ave
Everett, WA 98203
Dear Mr. Swan,
You have stated that you would like to erect a fence on your property and would like
clarification on the lot's orientation because it fronts on both Rucker Avenue and
Evergreen Way.
The residence on the subject site faces and is addressed off of Rucker Avenue, not
Evergreen Way. The original Plat of Central Park Addition to Everett shows your
property as fronting on Rucker Avenue to the east with an alley bordering the west
property line. The alley was later vacated and Evergreen Way constructed along the
western property line.
Therefore, the property's orientation still remains the same. Rucker Avenue is the front
and Evergreen Way is the rear. However, it should be noted that if you were to construct
a fence to the maximum allowed height of six feet along your rear property line it may
not be very attractive as viewed from Evergreen Way. The City recommends the
installation of some trees or a hedge along the rear property line instead of a fence to
create a privacy buffer from Evergreen Way. if you are set on installing a fence, then it is
recommended that the fence be installed behind the trees or hedge.
rhank you for your consideration.
Michael Palacios
CITY OF EVERETT
2930 Wetmore Avenue.
