These comments <br />address building issues only, additional revisions or alditions may be required by other departments <br />(such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer ro the 1997 Uniform Building Code, as <br />amended by the State of Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1997 Edition, unless stated <br />otherwise. <br />In order for the processin� of your application to continue, it wIll be necessary to <br />pravide the Building Uivis�on with two complete new sets of drawings retlecting <br />fhe corrections requested. <br />1. The plans as submitted do not meet the prescriptive requirements for lateral bracing. Provide <br />lateral analysis prepared by a licensed Washington State Structural Engineer. <br />... Provide smoke detector in all sleeping rooms and in the corridor or atea giving access to each <br />sepazate sleeping area. <br />3. Tt�e Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) requires R-19 insulation. 2x4 construction does not <br />provide sufficient depth for R-19. <br />4. The glazing in the addition is at 95% of the heated floor area (doors with 50% glass aze tr•:ated as <br />windows for energy code compliance). <br />�. Glazing in fixed or operable panels adjacent to a door where the nearest exposed edge of the <br />glazing is within a 24-inch arc of either vertical edge of the door in a closed position and where <br />the bottom exposed edge of the glazing is less than 60 inches above the walking sutface are <br />rtquired to be safety glass permanently identified per Sec. 2406.2 & 2406.4.6 UBC. <br />6.
