The <br /> c�lumn appears weak under north-south seismic loads on the weak axis of the <br /> column. <br /> 15. Coinbined loads on the column should include floor live loads alon9 with <br /> the dead load and the lateral loads. Page B12 of the calculations uses dead <br /> load plus earthquake only. Section 2303(f)5 <br /> 16. The base plate Type A for columns at D2, D3, 62 and 63 appear inadequate <br /> to sustain the combined axial and lateral load moments. These columns should <br /> be reviewed for the tributary seismic moments and shears from both directions. <br /> The four 3/4" diameter anchor bolts are insufficient to provide the necessary <br /> fixity. See Sheet 2.1.5 of plans. <br /> 17. The anchor bolts connecting the lateral load resisting frame columns .'.o <br /> the footings should not exceed the shear and tension values shown in Table <br /> 26-G. Where the bolts sustain combined shear and tension, an appropriate <br /> interaction formula should be applied in reducing the allowable loads. <br /> 18. The weld between the column and the base plate for type C base plate <br /> shown on Sheet 2.1.5 should be indicated. Also, the depth of the embedded <br /> plate should be dimensioned. <br /> An invoice for this structural only plan checking service based on the proper <br /> valuation will be forwarded to you under s?parate cover when you have deter•- <br /> mined the correct value. <br /> I am retaini�g all data and plans in anticipation of �elephone calls from the <br /> designer and also that I will be doing the recheck. Please instruct the <br /> designer to indicate on a separate sheet on which sheet or detail the correc- <br /> tions may be found. <br /> I am also taking *he liberty of sending a copy of this list directly to the <br /> designer in order to facilitate the construction process.
