3.03 ItJSTALLATION <br /> In oddiTion to the standard requirements, the asphalt concrete paving <br /> machi�e shall be equipped with outomatic screed controls with sensors for <br /> either or both sides of ihe paver, capable of sensing grade from an inside <br /> reference line such as a ski, sensing the transverse slope of the screed, and <br /> providing ihe elecirical signals which operate ihe screed to maintain the <br /> desired yrade and iransverse slope. <br /> The grade coniroller or sensor shall be constructed so it may be fitted with <br /> a ski-like shce to ride on the adjacent mat or ihe concrefe gutter. <br /> The slope coniroller shall be capable of mnintaining ihe screed at the <br /> desired transverse slope within plus/minus one-tenih percent (0.1%) in a <br /> twelve foot (.12') widih. <br /> An asphalt tack coat (SS-I) shall be placed in accordance with Section 34 of <br /> APWA Standard Specifications. The tack coat shall be applied to all <br /> existing pavement surfaces, asphalt or concrete and between successive <br /> layers of Asphaltic Concrete Pavement. <br /> 3.04 PHASE II CONSTRUCTION <br /> Place and compact the asphalt treated bose (ATB) in all paved areas and the <br /> building footprint, to the ihicknesses specified. The Class "B" wearing <br /> course shall be placed in a future contract for the new roads and parking <br /> areas. <br /> The Coniractor shall construct temporary "ramps" ot the connections to ihe <br /> existirg road north of ihe existing building. The exte�sion of ihe existing <br /> parking area north of the existing building shall be paved under ihis contract <br /> with 2 inches of Class "B" A.C. over 3 i�ches of ATB (min.) over 6 inches of <br /> free draining material. The Contractor shall place ATB over the exisling <br /> pavement as required to raise the s�rface grades, within 2 i�ches of the <br /> final grode for the Closs "B" wearing course. <br /> 1` R M M i <br /> 025!3-2 �� <br /> 8301 � <br />
