3.03 INSTALLATION <br /> In addition to the stnndard requirements, th� esphali concrete poving <br /> machine shall be equipped with automatic screed conirols wiTh sensors for <br /> either or both sides of ihe paver, capable of sensing grade from an inside <br /> reference line such as a ski, sensing ihe transverse slope of the screed, and <br /> providing the elecirical signals which �perate ihe screed to maintain the <br /> desired grade <ind transverse slope. <br /> The grade coniroller or sensor shall be consiructed so iT may be fitted with <br /> a ski-like :,hoe to ride on ihe adjacent mat or ihe concrete gutter. <br /> The slope coniroller shall be capable of mainTaining ihe screed at ihe <br /> desired transverse slope within plus/minus one-tenih percent (0.1°6) in a <br /> tweive Toot (12') widih. <br /> An asphalt tack coaT (SS-I) shall be placed in accordance with Section 34 of <br /> APWA Standard Specifications. The tack coat shall be applied to all <br /> existing pavement surfaces, asphalt or concrete and between successive <br /> layers of Asphaltic Concrete Pavemeni. <br /> 3.04 PHASE II CONSTRUCTION <br /> Place and compact ihe asphalt treated base (ATB) in all paved areas and the <br /> building footprint, to ihe thicknesses specified. The Closs "B" wearing <br /> course shall be placed in a future coniract for ihe new roads and parking <br /> areas. <br /> The Contractor shail construct temporary "ramps" at the connections to the <br /> existing road norih of the existing building. The extension of the exisSi,ig <br /> parking areo north of The existing building shall be paved under this contract <br /> with 2 inches of Class "B" A.C. over 3 inches of ATB (min.) over 6 inches of <br /> free draining material.
