.:'':' . .-.. ._ ... . _ .-- -
derived from stream base flow and water table characteristics over the
year(s).
Watershed Company personnel have assessed surfeoe water
characteristics over the last three years. Base winter stream flow is
estimated at 1/2 c.f.s. Flows drop to nothinp or near nothinp depenc::np
upon the summer. Further, the standinp pool of Narbedc Swamp Isaks
throuph the beaver dam at outlet, droppinp the pool o to one foot in late
summer. As of this date, the stream is still flowinp with considerable
vofume this year.
Typical bess flow volume is 0.4 pallons per minute over one foot at the
leaky berm. If active flow ceases in the summer, standine water will
remain in the shallow depressions unt?! drawn down by evaporation,
evapotranspiration, vnd infiltration.
We are ^,onfident that adequate hydrology is availablo to create a
successful wetland project, particulariy qiven the nature of the
underlyinp till soils. I
The net effect this will have on the stream will be to sliphtly delay
surface volume in the Fall, dampen the common flow peak sliQhtly by
increasing time of concentration, lessen the total volume of flow sliphtly
due to increased evapotrenspiration, and increase potential biofiltration
of pollutants significantly.
I hope this provides you adequate context for a rather uncommon project!
Please call with questions.
Sirscerely,
i
i
  L2i!zGl/
A.
