,
 ASCqpE GEOTECHNICAL INC•
August 6, 1992 Job No. 9207-0SG
barrier between the bottom of the siabs and the capillary break material. If desired, one (1) W
_ two (2) inches of clean sand may be placed over the vapor barrier to aid concrete curing.
_ Pnrmanent Draina¢e
— In addition W the foum;ation drains for the retaining walls discussed in the "Baclled Walls"
section, we recommend placing a continuous drain along the outside, lower edge of the
— perimeter footings and tightlining it to a suitable drainage outlet. The drain should consist of
a four (4) inch diameter, perforated, rigid pipe that is beded and backfilled with at least twelve
(l2)inches of pea gravel. The roof downspouts shonld be tightlined to a suitable drainage outlet
' separately fmm the footing drains. No drains should oudet onto the slope.
— GENERAL
The preliminary recommendations provided here are based on our understanding of the project
at this time. We recommend our engagement in the development of the plans to provide
additional, augmented, and/or more detailed recommendadons as required.
Adverse soil and/or groundwater conditions may be encountered during grading; therefore, we
also recommend our engagement during these operations so that immediate, on-site
recommendations can be made. Site preparation, subgrade verification, and other types of
earthwork should also be observed/monitored by onr personnel. T'hese recommendations arc for
engineering review, and go beyond any testing agency involvement which may be required•
We expect the on-site soil conditions to reflect our findings; however, some variations may
occur. Should soil conditions be encountered that cause concern and/or are not discussed hercin,
Cascade Geotechnical Incorporated, should be contacted immediately to determine if additional
_ or altemate recommendations are required.
, 9
--
 r
