Enclosed for your review is information conceming the backwater valve and grinder pump systems. Both systems require maintenance by the homeowner with the backwater valve probably requiring more � maintenance than the grinder pump sysrem. Both installations require that a permit be + obtained from the Public Works Department service counter iceated on the second tloor 1 at 3200 Cedar Street. Installation of a backwater valve requires a$27 plumbing permit. A grinder pump system requires a $30 sewer alteration permit, a $27 plumbing permit, and a$35 elecvical permit.
