The <br /> following are the requirements: <br /> 1. New addition to completely meet the building code. <br /> 2. Protected openings will be permil•ted into tlie existing Uuilding. <br /> 3. The addition is to be treated and considered a= a separate building, <br /> and as suclt will require separate toilet facilitic�. <br /> 4. One electrical service will be permitted for lrotl� buildings, however <br /> a �ervice room will be required which will have an entrance from <br /> the alley for access by teaants from each Uuilding and by fire <br /> personnel. The room may be in existing basement. <br /> 5. Existing Uuilding shall be brought up to the currenC electrical code. <br /> 6. The elevator shaft shall have 1-hour wallc and tl�e equia^lcr.t ef 1-3//� <br /> inch solid core doors. Self closers on doors will not Ue required. <br /> The upgrading by the state of thc elevator may be done immediately, <br /> The sliaft prol'er,ticn may wait until L'lie addition is constructed if <br /> tlie construction is started within one year.
