The following are the requirements: 1. New addition to completely meet the building code. 2. Protected openings will be permil•ted into tlie existing Uuilding. 3. The addition is to be treated and considered a= a separate building, and as suclt will require separate toilet facilitic�. 4. One electrical service will be permitted for lrotl� buildings, however a �ervice room will be required which will have an entrance from the alley for access by teaants from each Uuilding and by fire personnel. The room may be in existing basement. 5. Existing Uuilding shall be brought up to the currenC electrical code. 6. The elevator shaft shall have 1-hour wallc and tl�e equia^lcr.t ef 1-3//� inch solid core doors. Self closers on doors will not Ue required. The upgrading by the state of thc elevator may be done immediately, The sliaft prol'er,ticn may wait until L'lie addition is constructed if tlie construction is started within one year. Otherwise tlie shaft corrections sliall be made wlien required by joint notice of the two departments. 7. The attic shall not be used for storage. 8,. Thc ceiiing of the 4th floor shall have 1-hour fire resistive materials, and protected ceiling npenings. 9. The fire escape shall Ue repaired, and .o;enings under and within 10 feet shall be protected.
