Mir <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 4718 <br /> A Resolution requesting that jurisdiction be invoked in the merger <br /> of Fire District 11 with Fire District 1 and that Snohomish County <br /> Boundary Review Board Review Such Merger. <br /> Whereas, the proposed merger of Fire District 11 with Fire District 1 is a very <br /> significant action that requires an informed review; and <br /> Whereas, the proposed merger provides an opportunity to review fire and <br /> emergency service provision within the areas serviced by Fire District 11 and <br /> Fire District 1; and <br /> Whereas, for Snohomish County and surrounding municipal jurisdictions to <br /> review the proposal, adequate information needs to be provided; and <br /> Whereas, insufficient information has been provided to properly evaluate the <br /> proposal; and <br /> Whereas, due to the nature of the annexation and service issues in this <br /> urbanizing area, adequate time and information needs to be a part of the <br /> decision process; and <br /> Whereas, under the Growth Management Act (RCW 36.70A.110), counties and <br /> cities were required to establish an Urban Growth Area. Everett has established <br /> an Urban Growth Area and, accordingly, has been planning its capital facilities to <br /> serve the area which includes portions of the area proposed to be served by the <br /> proposed merger; and <br /> Whereas, over time, Everett and other cities will be annexing areas now served <br /> by Fire Districts 11 and 1; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: <br /> 1. The City of Everett requests that the Snohomish County Boundary Review <br /> Board review the proposed merger of Fire District 11 with Fire District 1 and <br /> that jurisdiction be invoked. <br />
