parking areas <br /> 5-1 SCREENING OF PARKING AREAS <br /> INTENT: <br /> Provide parking areas while enhancing the visual appeal of the site. This section <br /> is meant to work in conjunction with City Code parking standards. <br /> GUIDELINES: <br /> 5-1.a. Landscaping will be used to partly screen and visually improve <br /> parking areas where they may be viewed from roads and the pedestrian <br /> circulation system. Where conflicts arise the Planning Director may use the SMP <br /> parking standards if he/she so chooses. <br /> 5-1.b. Where parking lots are in front of or beside buildings, parking lots <br /> shall provide a 10' wide planting space, between the parking lot and the sidewalk <br /> in the public right-of-way, to a Type III standard. <br /> 5-1.c. Wheel stops shall be used to prevent vehicles from over-hanging <br /> into planting areas. <br /> 5-l.d. Parking lot landscaping shall be used to reinforce pedestrian and <br /> vehicular circulation, such as: <br /> 1. Parking lot entrances, <br /> 2. End of driving aisles and <br /> 3.
