Roof Remove the back porch (roof, exterior walls, <br /> and floor) from the house leaving the bathzoom walls, <br /> ceiling and floor. Frame out the ioof area over the <br /> bathroom providing a hip style roof with overhangs at <br /> all walls to match house overhangs. Add clear fascia <br /> board to rafter tails. Remove remaining asbestos wall <br /> shingles from back wall of main house up to eaves. <br /> Cover the entire house west wall and the bathroom -north <br /> wall exteriors with 1/2" x 70" masonite type bevelled <br /> horizontal siding. Finish off house cocners where new <br /> � siding meets existin9 asbestos shingle siding with <br /> appropriate wood trim to hide siding changes. Replace <br /> all broken asbestos shingles around the house with <br /> owner's shingles. <br /> Tear down the entire brick chimney from the rear of the <br /> house, fill in remaining floor openings. Strip the <br /> house roof (including front porch) down to the space <br /> sheathing. Install 1/2" CDX plywood to these roof areas <br /> and over the bathroom roof. Cover all roofs with three <br /> tab fiberglass s�inqles (20 year warranty, to be <br /> j re9istered with the roofing manufactuzer) . Complete <br /> roofing job with new flashings at all roof penetrations <br /> as necessary to last at least the life expectancy of the <br /> new roofinq. Owner to select roofing color. <br /> All new roofing shall be installed in accordance. with <br /> the roofing manufacturer 's specifications and in <br /> compliance with the requirements of the Uniform Suilding <br /> Code, 1982 edition. _ <br /> � s 3aro � � <br /> 2. Foundation Front 8 Rear Porch Construction Remove <br /> the nert ca boar oun ation skirt ng up to the <br /> asbestos shinqle sidinq around the entire house and <br /> replace with 1/4" cement asbestos board plaaed on 2" x <br /> 4" framinq between posts. All new wood in contact with <br /> the earth ahall be pressure treated. New C.A.B. to run <br /> down irtto the ground below the exterior grade line. The <br /> new skirting shall go around the entire house perimeter . <br /> closinq in and providing a pl�wood access door (with <br /> hook and eye type latch system) sized to code in •area of <br /> existing access. . <br /> Dig out the dirt in the ccawl to give at least 18" <br /> clearance between the ground and the bottom of the floor <br /> joists above. Remove wood debris and cover the ground <br /> with 6 mil polyethylene lapping joints at least 12". <br /> Vent foundation with screened openings givinq cross <br /> ventilatio� to code. <br /> Front porch. Support the front porch roof and remove <br /> � floor and brick below. Build a new 18 ' 0" x 6 ' 0" porch <br /> floor with 2" x 6" T s G hemlock decking on 2" thick <br /> wood framing resting on post and ' pier foundation. <br /> Provide at least three 16" x 16" concrete piers across <br /> the front with pier bottoms set below grade. New <br /> decking to run east and west sloping away from front of <br /> house. Reset existing iron roof support posts bolting <br /> to new decking. Install 3 ' 0" wide wood steps on east <br /> ' side of porch down to the existing front side walk. <br /> Provide a heavy-duty custom-built black wrought iron <br /> railing along the north side of the new stairs bolting <br /> secure -at top and bottom landings. <br /> ,.�-••--_— ------ _�..-__�.,__- ,_--_-..�--- ---..._ <br />
