RESOLUTION NO. 4668 <br /> A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City o <br /> Everett, Washington, authorizing the Mayor to <br /> sign a contract for collection agency services. <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett collects fees and fines for a variety of municipal <br /> purposes including parking fines, parks and recreation use fees, alarm fees, <br /> abatement fees, among others; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett has utilized the services of a collection agency to <br /> assist in the collection of non-current debts; and <br /> WHEREAS, a request for proposals process was recently conducted to evaluate <br /> the best alternatives available to the city; <br /> WHEREAS, a recent change in state law now permits adding collection agency <br /> fees to the amount to be collected; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT: <br /> The Mayor of the City of Everett is authorized to sign, on behalf of the city, a <br /> contract with Al Gordon Associates for the purpose of collection agency services <br /> incorporating the proposal recently made to the city, including the addition of <br /> collection fees to the principal amount owed the city. <br /> Adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Everett, <br /> Washington, this 14th day of October, 1998. <br /> Councilmember Introducing Resolution <br /> Passed and Approved this 14th day of October , 1998. <br /> 2i14, <br /> Coundl President <br />
